Meet Community Liason
Angelique Chaparro first worked supporting people with varying abilities over 20 years ago as a Teacher’s Aide and Residential Counselor at the California School for the Blind. She later focused her career as a Behavioral Therapist, with a concentration on supporting Autistic Students. Her experience with students of all abilities equipped her to serve as an Integrated After-School Program Lead Teacher at Junior Blind of America, The Boys and Girls Club of America, and in a private program with Foster children.
Angelique supported her own sons with their education by taking a full-time approach at home while simultaneously becoming a “Mad Scientist” for Mad Science of Los Angeles, an organization dedicated to teaching kids extreme STEAM.
Currently, Angelique is a Prevocational Coach for young adults with varying abilities and the Community Liaison for Growing @Home.
Her personal experience as an AuDHD, PTSD survivor, Fibro-Warrior, and Single Homeschool Mom of 2 Neurodivergent boys fuels her passion for trauma-informed work places, schools, and living spaces.
